The Picto watch is a Danish design classic that aims to capture a picture of time.

Taking its name from the word “pictogram”, the Picto marks the hours with a steel dot affixed to a rotating watch face. The minute hand moves as normal.

The dot appears to move around the dial to depict the earth moving and time passing.

The minimal watch face doesn’t feature indices, date windows or branding – but it does come in a wide variety of colours.

The black dial is paired with a polished gold stainless-steel 40mm case, a black rubber strap and a hardened mineral glass lens.

Its unique mechanism is powered by a Japanese Quartz movement, and has earned the watch a place in the permanent collection at New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
