Sale: 25% off the Roman inspired by Danish architect Arne Jacobsen
The elegant Roman watch is inspired by Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen’s iconic clock, which was originally created for the Aarhus City Hall in 1942.
As with the original wall clock, the watch dial and the front part of the case are produced as a single piece, and the Roman numeral indexes are printed directly onto the dial. The watch movement is located to the reverse; the specially-designed setting fixes the waxed leather strap to the watch. The time is adjusted by applying pressure to the centre of the rear case with a pointed object.
The 46mm stainless steel case is topped with hardened mineral glass. Roman is available with a back leather strap and is best suited as a men’s watch.
Arne Jacobsen (1902 – 71) was one of the most influential Danish architects and designers of the twentieth century. His building and product designs – including the Egg and Swan chair – combine modernist ideals with a Nordic appreciation for naturalism.
