This chronograph version of Record by Italian architect and designer Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002) features a stopwatch and a date function and comes with two leather straps: one in yellow and one in purple.
Record Chronograph launched in early 2013 but Castiglioni designed the original Record watch in 2000 for Italian design brand Alessi, making it one of the last products he worked on.
The chronograph version of this design classic has a date window at the three o’clock position that’s adjusted using the crown on the side of the watch case. The striking black face features large playful numbers designed by Max Huber, a Swiss designer who was a friend of Castiglioni’s.
The three chronograph dials count the seconds, minutes and hours when the stopwatch function is activated. They are stopped and started using the top button on the side of the watch case.
The three chronograph dials can then be reset to their start position using the button below the watch crown at the four o’clock position.
The colourful watch straps are entirely removable from the watch case allowing the wearer to switch between straps easily. The watch has a 243mm long strap and a 40mm diameter case and is best suited as a men’s watch.
